- Hi Simu yes we had a great time .They were working on the roads when we were leaving and their is still a lot of work to do in the last two blocks , The builder told us they are working on a compelx in Falerna they are houses for all year round ,there is pressure to finish them . He said as soon as they are finished they will have all their workers back in labrezza to get it done maby by next summer /fingers crossed ,still no shops

Great to hear back from you so quickly. We are in C, so I guess that is the third block along from you in A. We are also on the second floor and we have a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. I am not sure what notary we will use but when it gets nearer the time I'll get back to you for some guidance. You say you are going over in December, which route. I believe Ryanair are not flying there this winter. So we will need to look at alternatives for when we go over and sign etc. Was the final part of the buying process simple? Getting keys etc. When we went on the inspection trip we entered the development through a narrow tunnel. Is there a larger entrance because we thought we might drive down with furniture rather than buy it there. And just one last thing, is there much noise from the railway on the left or the road on the right.
I live in Milton Keynes with my husband and my two sons, Tom is 23 and is a chef, Sam is 21 and is an apprentice engineer. Look forward to hearing from you Simi

I read that you are in Block C, second floor. what apartment are you in? We have Block C, apartment 2C. Well, we will when our mortgage is completed. We had trouble with the low valuation and told the builder we will have to pull out, because we couldn't raise the shortfall. He has now given us extra time to get the money together - until December 2009. So we are going ahead and using Brian Eastwood to arrange the mortgage. Hopefully it won't be long before we are able to go over and enjoy what you and Joan have been doing !! I have been in touch with Joan since the early days of the forum. Our only visit to Calabria has been the inspection one in Feb 07. It has taken a long time, what with the recession as well. I look forward to hearing from you and perhaps one day meeting up.

Joan said… - We rented it through an agency from 10th August til 31st August this year.
We got 1,300 euro for the three weeks, but we had to pay 30% of that to the agent for him to meet the client, clean the apartment, keyholding and advertising. It's expensive, but its better than not renting it all.
